**Again, my apologies to all concerned for the lateness of this competition,
hence the term Combat Scroll.**
My greetings to all talented scribes and gifted illuminators of the kingdom,
A grave problem is looming over the Royal family, in that the royal box of
award blanks is scantily filled, depriving their Royal Highnesses &
Majesties of that great pleasure of having a scroll to give the person who
has earned their honor and esteem. Having just recently learned of this
terrible tradgedy, I was inspired to hold a competition, knowing the talent
and dedication of our kingdom's artisans.
The competition is for scroll blanks, (specifically for Opals, AoA's, but if
you choose another award, that is perfectly fine.) I have it on good faith
from Master Eldrid, Clerk Signet, that drawing an actual opal, until our
device has passed Laurel, is acceptable in the time being, but that since
the Opal is armigerous, the blank shield is necessary. To enter the
competition, you must have at least TWO blanks. More is marvelous.
**IF the blanks are only illumination and lack calligraphy, they are still
enterable. I am not encouraging the lack of calligraphy, but calligraphy is
much easier to fill out in a short time, than trying to paint a beautiful
border twenty minutes before court.***
Please scribes, as our army returns from war, it is our turn to gird
ourselves for battle with Titivillus! Need not be present to win, but your
work must be.
All pieces become the property of their Majesties/ Highnesses after the
competition, but I will be trying to take an electronic record for those who
like to keep records of their work.
Sincerely yours, in scribal service,
L. Livia Zanna
