As My Knight was not able to attend Pennsic war and my
knighting, he sent this letter. Please indulge me in posting it
here, I love my Knight very much and wish he could have been
there to speak these words himself.

- Syr Justus de Tyre

  Dear Son,

If I could here paint a picture of the Knight I might wish you
to become, I would need Ore, for a shining heart. I would use
Argent, for a pure mind. It needs Sable, for a steely will, and
Gules for blood, the currency of knighthood's argument

When these colors met the page, I would paint you, I would paint
your clear eyes, your true heart, your strong frame, your quick
hand and your wandering feet. I could do it from memory, because
they were all there the day I first met you on the field.

I believe you have already done it. Out of the messy palette of
my knighthood, I inadvertently showed you knighthood in a proper
light. All I can ask of you now is that you illumine well your
shield, and bear one final color on it.

Bear always Azure, as no other color of knighthood shines
clearly without the tincture of mercy and forgiveness. In the
heat of argument, in the glare of conflict, it is the color that
fadeth first. Keep thou true to it son, and you will come to the
end of your days with scant regret.

So sayeth I, Viscount Baron Master Syr Ternon de Caerleon, first
prince of Calontir, a man not reputed to be unwise. Go now son,
to your well-earned reward, and take with you my regard, like a
father’s, for a good son. May honor and valor follow you all
your days.
