if anyone is interested in heading this up please contact me asap.
a friend of mine named anthony huss owns huss hybrid combat college here in
nc. they are a mma nhb submission school that sponsor several tournaments a
year. this year they are doing grapplefest 2005 which will also host the
first annual "tap factor" championships. the event is september 16th - 18th
and will be held near richmond and palmyra. anyway, anthony has been trying
to correct this idea in the martial arts world that martial arts and
grappling were born in the east. to that end he has asked if the sca could
come out to his site and do a demo / tourney / whatever. his events usually
draw a few thousand spectators and this grapplefest has added a lot of other
stuff. the martial arts olympics is one thing of note since the sca could
put together some teams (he has confirmations from dozens of schools, the
army, navy, police, etc). this whole thing is being done outside so the sca
could really showcase some good stuff. i think he said camp friendly was
the name of the place but it has cabins, archery, equestrian, its wet, a
hall, and some other stuff that might make it a good potential sca site as
well.
who all is in richmond and is there anyone that would be willing to act as
the local contact for anthony? i will bring some of my guys (not sure if we
are going to do the olympics, the amateur submission fighting, the four way
joust, or what on top of the sca demo part). anthony is a really good guy
and he really wants to add the western arts to this event. banners,
pavilions, armor, and a captive audience of people into sport combat.
so, who wants it??
regards
logan

Never explain - your friends do not need it and your enemies will not
believe you anyway.
