This is a note for everyone to know that there has been a change to
the Pennsic Schedule in regards to Rapier.

Originally set for Monday morning of War week, the Atlantian 5 Man
Melee has been changed in order to make sure that more Atlantians
could join in the fray. When the tournament was submitted to the
Pennsic MoL, she worked very hard to find a slot for our tournament
to reside. As this is typically the largest turnout for a tournament
at war, we were given a large chunk of time in order to make it all
happen. However this original schedule conflicted with the Bridge
Battle on the same day, and would mean that we would lose a large set
of our forces (and for me a large pool of marshals)

Thanks to a little wheeling and dealing, we were able to switch the
schedule a little bit and the schedule on the Pennsic site has been
updated to show these changes.

The Atlantian 5 Man Melee is moving from Monday 9:00 AM to Thursday
3:00PM (this conflicts with the following Heavy events: Allied
Champions battle, Midrealm - East Unbelted singles practice, Known
World Squires Tourney, Sidhe Mor's Five Ring Tourney, Non war point
Woods Battle w/Combat Archery, Dwarves vs. Giants, Children's
Leukemia Deed of Arms,Judicial Combats - Historic Combat Series.

If you are not competing or playing in these, please come on out and
join us on the rapier list. If you are authorized in rapier put
together a team and join in the fray. One major rule change this
year is that we will be allowing a total 3 White Scarves, Dons, OGRs,
MoB, Bronze Rings, Knights, Master at Arms, etc. per team. As we are
hoping that many of the knights will also join us we have upped the
limit to allow for more possibilities for team creation.

Due to the time change I am in need of marshals that can help me with
the tournament. I already have a couple of people that have
volunteered, but I would like to have more. As this can be a hectic
tournament I would like at least 2 experienced Atlantian marshals per
list, MiTs will be welcome, just see myself or Chris earlier in the
week. I have a few things for the prize box, but if you would like
to donate something, please let me know (Email me directly at
thatguy at troyfish.com)

The other schedule shift is that the East Kingdom Tournament has been
shifted up an hour on Thursday to Noon.

To make the shift happen, I volunteered to run another tournament in
its stead on Monday morning. This will be the Unscarved Tourney.
That too will be fun, once I figure out what to do with it.

However here are the rules for the Atlantian 5 Man.

The Atlantian 5 Man Melee
Atlantia calls forth the fencers of the knowne world to test their
mettle against each other in Atlantia’s annual 5 Man Melee
Tournament. Build your teams, drink water, kill your friends, have
some fun.

The tournament will begin at 3PM on Thursday of War Week.
Check in will begin at 2:00PM

Tourney Format:
This tournament will consist of no WHINING!
Double Elimination – You get a second chance to kill.
Atlantian Rules apply.
When a team is knocked out of the tournament there will be a bear pit
on the side consisting of melee fun for all involved – Our pit
marshals will be trained to make up new scenarios on the spot and
keep people fighting ‘til there is no fight left in ‘em.
This tournament is open to all rapier fighters authorized in epee or
schläger.
If any member of either team in any given bout is not schläger
authorized, then that bout will be deemed an epee bout. If all are
authorized in heavy blades then please use them.
There will be a limit of three top-ranked fighters per team of five —
this includes all fighters who have received their kingdom’s highest
level award for a martial form. –
Rapier (White Scarf, Bronze Ring, MoB, OGRe, Order of Thorbjorn's
Hammer, etc.)
Heavy (Knight, Master at Arms, etc.)
All teams must check in as a group. However, if a fighter is
detained during the time of check-in, another team member may sign
them in provided they have the appropriate paperwork for the missing
fighter.

If you have any questions please contact Connor Levingstoune (The
Vagabond Provost of Atlantia) or THL Christopher MacConing (Queen’s
Rapier Champion of Atlantia).

Take care,
Connor
