My mum is a Renn fest, local artist and SCA-er from waaaaaaay back who lives
in New Orleans.  ALL communication has been cut off.  From Morgan City to
Mobile (an aunt lives there) there are NO PHONE lines and almost no
electricity.

I hope all are prepared for any hurricane that comes to this area again.  My
best friend lives in Araby (St Bernard parish) and my last call with her she
told me the water was cresting the levy (8-10 feet) and starting to flood
the neighborhood.

I'm most worried as the Pontchatrain bridge is cut THOUGH the levy!  AND
another aunt works for the Army Corps of Engineers and last we heard from
uncle H was she was out with the barges shoring up the levy around River
Ridge area (it floods EVERY rain).
