Well, I am not sure about the origins of Cambok, but
about two months ago I happened to catch a game of
cambok on tv. They were in Australia, and it was
being played by about 200 people on a stadium. And I
know that it was cambok because there was a comentator
who said that's what it was. I had a great time
watching it.
It had nothing to do with SCA. The uniforms were
thoroughly modern, and there were two teams of about
100 people each. Blue shirts and yellow shirts, and
shorts. I guess it was the only way to figure out who
were the members of the other team.
I do not think that this was invented by a SCAdian,
but I can see where a Canadian expatriot would have
found it a suitable replacement for his hockey.
Cheers,
Belphoebe
