[MR] Schedule for Thegns and Thralls

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Here is the schedule for Thegns & Thralls this
weekend; times are of course approximate and subject
to change, with no warranties expressed or implied.
The exception is the time of site closure on Sunday. 
*That* is firm.  :-) 

The current weather forecast for the area is for
temperatures in the low to mid 70s, partly cloudy with
a small chance of morning showers.  In short, it
should be a pleasant autumn day, and I hope to see
many of you there! 

Friday 

6 pm, site opens.  Traveller's Fare will be available.


Saturday 

8:30 am, breakfast available 

9 am, Archery range opens for practice 

10 am, Archery competition starts.  Lady Reyne has
planned an exciting combination of shoots which should
be a great deal of fun. 

10:30 am, opening court of Their Excellencies. 
Authorisations, inspections, tournaments and the quest
to start immediately thereafter. 

The heavy weapons tourney will be a holmgang.  A prize
will be awarded for the best death on the field as
well as the overall winner.  Their Excellencies will
be selecting their champions from among the
competitors in the tournaments. 

The quest is a team activity involving a variety of
contests; part of the challenge will be to collect
specific words and use them compose a skaldic piece in
the style of _Beowulf_. 

Lady Alexandria will be running a limited heraldic
consult table during the day.  We are also pleased to
have a number of excellent merchants joining us for
the day. 

11 am, competition and display items should be on the
tables.  Children's activities will begin at this time
as well

12-12:30 pm, Lunch (sausages, cheese, soup, and spiced
fruit & nut loaves) 

After lunch, classes on a variety of
Viking/Anglo-Saxon subjects including sprang, Bayeux
Tapestry stitch, and Viking wrestling (glima).

1 pm, Children's activities end.

2 pm, judging for brewing competition starts

3 pm, heraldic consult table closes 

4 pm, Court of Their Excellencies 

5:30 - 9 pm, Children's Feast in upper hall 

6 pm, Feast in the main hall.  Those competing in the
quest will present their skaldic compositions during
the feast. 

At 6:30 pm the children will trick-or-treat through
the main hall 

Sunday 

8:30 am, Breakfast available 

12:00 pm Site closes.  Anyone on site after 12 will be
assumed to be helping with cleanup.
