Caer Mear Baronial Investiture
December 14th, 2004
Come celebrate with the Barony of Caer Mear as we welcome William and Katerina as our new Baron and Baroness, garbed in your finest in the red and blue colors of Caer Mear. Bring mementos, tokens, and pictures of the Barons and Baronesses of the past for a historical display of the Baronage of Caer Mear.
Site- Fluvanna County High School- 3717 Central Plains Rd. Palmyra, VA 22963 (alcohol, pets, and weapons are prohibited)- Site opens at 9am.
Marshal Activities: For entry into the lists, either Armored or Rapier, please bring an item to donate to a care package to be sent overseas to U.S. troops for the holiday season. Members of the populace may contribute donations as well and donate on behalf of a figher. It is recommended that you dontate an item from the suggested list.
There will be Youth Combat at this event! More information will be posted as it becomes available.
Arts and Science Activities: Baroness Magdalena de Hazebrouck will be co-ordinating A&S competitions and displays. Please forward all inquiries or concerns to betty_eyer at yahoo.com.
There will be an Open Display so that all may share their efforts with others. Please contact the A&S
co-ordinator if you have special requests for display space.
There will be a Caer Mear Baronial Regalia competition; the winner to be chosen by William and Katerina.
Baroness Magdalena will sponsor a competition that aims at showcasing an understanding of your persona's daily life. Submit any article of personal attire or personal possessions and be prepared to explain how that article is appropriate and significant to your persona. Your explanation can be submitted as written documentation, or you can be present by your display from the hours of 1pm to 2pm to explain to the judges in person. An extra judging point will be added to the normal judging sheets to give this explanation extra weight.

Please make checks to The Barony of Caer Mear/SCA, Inc. Be sure to include your society AND modern names as well as your membership number if you are a member. Feast is limited to 115 seats. If you wish to be on board, send in your reservation early. This feast will sell out.
Special Note: As mentioned above, a special display looking back at the former Barons and Baronesses of Caer Mear is planned. If you have any tokens, favors, pictures, and other memories of the past that you wish to share, please bring them with you. A table will be set up for the display

>From the North or South: Make your best route to I-64 and follow the directions from the East/West.
>From the East or West: Take I-64 to exit 136-Zion Crossroads/Route 15, located east of Charlottesville. Go south on route 15. Travel about 8 miles, passing
through Palmyra Village, and continue about 2 more miles south on 15. Turn right on route 649. Entrance to school will be on your right.
>From the South side of Richmond: Take Chippenham Pkwy N. to route 6 east. Left onto 6 (also called Patterson Avenue). Follow this road until you come to the
intersection of route 6 and 15 at Dixie. Turn north (right) on route 15 go about 5 miles. Turn left on 673 (Bethel Church Rd), then straight on 649. Entrance to
school is on your left.
>From Scottsville area: follow route 6 east. Turn left on route 649 after passing the fire tower on your right. At the stop sign turn left. Entrance to school
will be on your left.
