First off, I'd like to say a great big, "Thank you!" to everyone that has
volunteered their time, knowledge and home to make this happen.
The Barony of Lochmere will be hosting an event January 29th set in the
time and court of Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy. Please see our main
web page for further information including several links to Burgundian
related sites. http://lochmere.atlantia.sca.org/ As part of our effort
toward a top notch event, we are offering several costuming workshops
specifically related to Burgundian styles between 1417-1467. There is
also a specialty class and workshop on hats and veils. You will find the
dates, times, directions and miscellaneous information below.

This class is for recognizing line and form as well as fabrics, colors and
construction of Burgundian clothing, both men's and women's. Some
refreshments will be provided ie. coffee, tea etc. If snacks are desired,
feel free to bring them.
Directions:
Take your best route to US 50 East. Get off at exit 29 B (Cape Saint
Claire Road). At the first stoplight, turn left onto College Parkway.
Continue on College Parkway to the first stoplight at Green Holly Drive.
Turn right on Green Holly and get into the left lane (the right lane is a
turn lane that disappears after the entrance to Broadneck High School).
Continue through the stoplight at the entrance to the high school and go
straight down Green Holly almost to the end. Turn left on Rolling View
Drive. Follow Rolling View around and up the hill; 771 is at the top of
the hill on the left. There is a split-rail fence and a pond in the front
yard. Parking is on the street, carpooling is encouraged.

This is the first of three workshops devoted to patterns(slopers), cut,
fit and actual sewing. There will be some literature available for those
who were unable to attend the class on the 6th. I would encourage our
male members to attend as well. This is a wonderful opportunity to
finally have a pour point (doublet) that fits! Ladies, please remember to
wear whatever foundation garments you will be wearing under the finished
piece to the workshop.
Supplies: muslin- unwashed- for draping a sloper

This is the second of our costuming workshops. Once again we will be
draping slopers and making patterns, as well as helping those who have
gotten started on the actual sewing portion check fit and construction.

This is our specialty class on hats, hoods and veils. There will be
patterns available for purchase, as well as handouts, for three men's and
three women's Burgundian hats. There will also be a demo and handout for
how to drape and pin veils.

This is the third of our scheduled workshops. As it is set for the
weekend after Thanksgiving, RSVP would be greatly appreciated. If there
are not enough interested people, this workshop will be re-scheduled to
the 5th of December.
