Greetings Good Gentles,
I realize that I attached a similar inquiry to my post in giving out information on the A&S competitions for baronial birthday but I decided just in case any potential judges may have overlooked that post, I would repost my query. I'm seeking those interested in helping to judge the brewing: honey-based meads; needle arts (beadwork, knitting, nalbinding, knotted work, lacemaking and needlework - counted thread, free-form and miscellaneous others); and illumination competitions at Storvik's Baronial Birthday on May 22nd. The theme for illumination and needle arts is Viking mythology.
Though our Baronial A&S Champion is chosen by our Baroness at her discretion, I would like to make sure our participants get the proper judging and comments they deserve since one of the things I have heard has hindered many a people from entering competitions in general is the lack of good commentary and people qualified to judge in their particular field. I'm not saying that the judges were not skilled in a variety of areas, but that at times the work submitted didn't have an opportunity to be judged by someone who has long practiced or mastered that particular art or science. So I was hoping to match people with others in their fields to open the lines of communication and further the exchange of knowledge in the various areas.
Anyone willing to donate their time and efforts to our cause, please email me at kim_wolfshavensca at yahoo.com or call 301-490-9362. Thank you in advance for the donation of your time!
Yours in Service,
Kim of Wolfshaven
Minister of Arts & Sciences
Barony of Storvik
