Greetings Unto the Populace,
As Novice Tourney quickly gallops it's way into our midst, I would like to urge you to submit entries into the two competitions being held on Saturday, July 17th during the day.
Remember for the "Best in Show for a Novice," there are no restrictions on medium, topic or time period. Just that you have been doing this art or science for less than a year. Pearls will be given to the populace to be placed in cups by each entry and all entrants may keep the pearls given to them as a gift for their valiant efforts. 5 yards of red velveteen will be awarded to the entrant that has a combination of the most pearls as well as the highest judging scores.
There will also be a competition of breads made without using commercial yeast that has been graciously sponsored by Lady Hrosvitha von Celle, Royal Bakers to their Majesties. Any other means of leaven or non-leavened bread is acceptable and encouraged. If there are enough entries, judging will be split into 2 categories. If this is your first attempt and you would like some pointers, please bring your bread and research and a roundtable discussion may ensue. A prize(s) will be awarded to the winner at the end of the day. In addition, a basic "how to make bread" class will be held for the youth in Atlantia during that day.
So please come and show off your talents before our Baroness and the populace that day in July. We look forward to enjoying the fruits of your labors that keep the light of knowledge alive within our barony and Atlantia.
Yours in Service,
Lady Kim of Wolfshaven
Minister of Arts & Sciences
Barony of Storvik
