Forwarded on behalf of the autocrat:
Welcome, Welcome!
This session of Rapier Academie will open on 30th day of October Anno
Societatus XXXIX. Atlantia has recently had many schools open which
teach the arte of the rapier. As such, this session strives to give
each school the opportunity to show the studies of their Practice and
the prowess of their students.
There shall be a slate of classes dedicated to the arte of the sword.
Representatives of various schools of Defense will present their
Practice for your noble consideration. We shall also present studies in
the divers arts of our society to promote a well-informed Nobility.
There will be a tournament to compare the students of the schools of
defense. As such, we request each entrant to be recognized as a student
of a school of rapier. Such schools are well known in England as on the
Continent. Saviolo has a school, as do Degrassi and Silver. Agrippa,
Caranza, et cetera, are not as well known, but students of those
schools will also be permitted to enter. This tourney will be for
heavier blades only. Schlagers, Del Tins, et cetera, only. There will
be a prize for the student who best embodies the ideals of their
school. There will be smaller prize for student who defeats all of his
opponents.
Artisans and craftspersons are encouraged to enter the competition of
15th & 16 c. accessories that would be worn or carried...anything from
shoes to headgear to pouches to pin cushions!
For those with a rapier wit, there will be an on-site sonnet
competition, with a theme announced the day of. Come prepared with
ready wit and sharpened quill!

"If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy.
If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem.
But I arise in the morning torn between the desire to improve the world,
and a desire to enjoy the world.
This makes it hard to plan the day."
