9th Annual Siege of Glengarry

Highland Foorde is a vibrant and growing barony of
northern Atlantia, but alas, population growth brings
new challenges in providing for the needs of our
people. To that end, Highland Foorde has turned to its
undeveloped western region where we have begun setting
up a colony, (name of proto-canton?). Once
established, this new settlement will begin to manage
the resources of this area that will provide
much-needed farmland, meadows for grazing, vast timber
stands, and the blackstone that burns.

This colony, however, is surrounded on three sides by
the Kingdom of Aethelmearc, and it is connected to us
by only one road running through a narrow, mountainous
passage. Rumors abound that the citizens of
Aethelmearc’s borderlands are suspicious of our
intentions, fearful even of invasion, and are
conspiring to barricade the Western Road. 

Development of this region is vital to the continued
growth and stability of Highland Foorde. We cannot
allow the barricade to be erected, and so we urgently
call upon our friends and allies to come to our aid in
defending our barony. We will march on Glengary in the
Shire of Sylvan Glen where we believe weapons and
supplies are being stockpiled in preparation for the
siege of the Western Road. Join us Sept 24-26, 2004 in
defense of our Barony.

Activities will include fighting, archery, fencing, a
feast for 60, classes, and an A & S competition with
the theme “Castles:  Forts of Fancy”. Entries may be
in any media such as but not limited to textiles,
woodwork, even food for the clever culinary craftsman
as long as it features castles in some form. The
winner shall be declared the Keep of Glengarry.
Children are encouraged to enter, and the winner shall
be named the Assistant Keep of Glengarry.
A feast for 60 is being prepared by Lady Theodora
Quenell. Dietary concerns may be sent to her at: 
ladyquenn at aol.

Prices are as follows:  camping, $12.00; day trip,
$8.00; children ages 6-15 camping, $7.00; day trip,
$3.00.A light lunch will be provided Saturday and is
included in the site fees. Feast is an additional
$5.00, children ages 6-15, $3.00. Children age 5 and
under camp and feast as our guests. 
Pre-registration is encouraged, especially for those
wishing to feast, as at-the-door feast slots will be
limited. Dormitory space will be given on a first
come, first serve basis.

Directions:  Take your best route to I-81. Take exit
16W in West Virginia. This merges onto Rt. 9. Follow
Rt. 9 through the town of Hedgesville, WV. Once you
pass the Hedgesville Fire Dept., it’s approximately 3
miles to Camp Frame Rd. Turn right on to Camp Frame
Rd. Continue on this road, staying to the right. Camp
Frame is at the end of it.
