[MR] A Small Occurrence at Assessment

When the rains came to the King’s Assessment, I gathered up all my gear and loaded it into my van – all except the plain felt hat I call my field hat.  It’s one of those big heavy felt hats they sell at Pennsic.  I left it on one of the hay bales next to the fighting field.

Realizing that I’d forgotten it, I went looking for it when the rain slackened, and found, to my relief, that someone had slipped it under a tarp that had been left in the area.  As a result, it was only slightly wet, not soaked.
