Greetings and Salutations from the Autocrat!!!

The Southern Atlantian War Practice and A&S Symposium is this Saturday hosted 
by the  Canton of Misty Marsh by the Sea (Florence, SC).  We invite you to 
come on down for some southern Atlantian hospitality.   

Are you a marshal who needs the required class to maintain your warrant?!?!?
Required classes are being offered in the following fighting & related 
disciplines:
MoL 101                          (taught by Emma of Elandonan, KMoL)
Rapier Marshal                    (taught by Vyvyan Broussard, KDeputyEM - 
Rapier)
Target Archery Marshal       (taught by THL Bruno Jager)
Combat Archery Marshal    (taught by THL Bruno Jager)
Field Marshal                     (taught by Baron Alejandro Mateo Ramirez y 
Mendoza)
Heavy Marshal                 (although there is currently no listed teacher, 
Master Kevin, the                                      Training Deputy to the 
KEM promises there WILL be one by                                    
Saturday!!!)

For the FIGHTERS, there will be plenty of fighting to satisfy all!  The War 
Practice will be run by HRM Cuan MacDaige, including various scenarios (bridge 
battle, field battle, town battle, etc.).    There is enough room for Combat 
Archery for those who wish to do so.   Authorizations will be available as 
well.

The Bells of St. Francis ring out, beckoning all to a day of study under 
learned scholars.    Classes will be offered in a variety of subjects and tracks.  
Fighters will have their last chance to authorize before Pennsic as well as 
the opportunity to practice war and melee tactics.  A complete listing of 
classes and activities is available on the website, which will be updated as

Cost is $5 for members, $8 for non-members.  Teacher discount:  teaching one 
class - members $2 off site fee, two or more classes, free of charge 
(non-members must still pay non-member surcharge).   Children 17 & under $3.  

Site is Francis Marion University, Florence, South Carolina, and will be open 
from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm.   No alcohol, no pets, no live steel.   

Hotel:  Holiday Inn Express - Florence, SC I-95 at Hwy 327 (exit 170).  (843) 
629-9779.  Offers King, Queen, and double Queen rooms.  Group rate is $74 per 
night.  This is the hotel nearest the site.  There are a number of additional 
hotels at exit 164 and 160 with varied rates (contact the autocrat for 
details).

Directions:  Take your best route to I-95 near Florence, SC.  Take exit 170  
onto Hwy 327 south toward Florence (if traveling from the North, turn Left; 
from the south, turn Right).  **You will see the hotel on the left.  Proceed on 
Hwy 327 to the 2nd stoplight (5.4 miles from the exit), and turn LEFT onto Hwy 
76/301.  Proceed 1.7 miles to the next stoplight, and turn RIGHT onto Francis 
Marion Road.  Proceed 0.3 miles, and turn LEFT into Gate 3.  Take an 
immediate Right into Parking Lot B.  The building will be directly across the street.  
Walk past the brick building (McNair Science Ctr) to the glass Leatherman 
Science Building, where you will see Troll. *** For unloading &/or handicapped 
parking:  Proceed straight past lot B and past the traffic circle.  The 
Leatherman Building will be on your right.  At the far end, there will be a drive for 
unloading (15 minute limit).  Handicapped parking will be located just past 
the unloading drive.  SCA signs will be posted (by Luqman, the magnificent!).
