I would also like to see Atlantia start a calendar of A&S competitions
to be held. In the newsletter for the West Kingdom, the topics of their
A&S competitions are published up to 12 months ahead of time. It would
give those of us with time consuming hobbies time to construct/research
something appropriate for an event we are planning on attending instead
of waiting for a competition the is "just right" to come along.
Just my rant...

Well, actually, autocrats do not have the "right" to arrange an event
the way they like.
They have a "duty" and a "responsibility" to organize and run an event
that those attending will enjoy.
Performing that duty involves judgment, and presumably the autocrat and
their assistants were chosen because it was believed that their judgment
would be sound and the results would be worth attending.
Autocrats are responsible to the group that entrusted them with that
duty and to the attendees of that event, as well as the owners of the
site and the vendors that provide services on behalf of the event.
That said, although I very much like the Tempore Atlantia concept, the
original post did make a valid point. At all major arts-oriented events,
it would be nice to have a venue for all time periods. It does not need
to be the main focus for the event or even the competitions, but I would
rather see a piece entered in competition sooner than later! That way,
we all learn more stuff sooner!
