I also note as one who is responsible for various off
topic conversations on the list that the OT in the
subject line is a great way to deal with it.

As I've said on other lists, it seems almost
impossible to avoid spam entirely.  I don't support it
but spam seems to be a fact of life just as junk mail
is.  I never would have realized that it could be such
an emotional issue.  I just consider it junk to be
filtered, same way those ads are that I get in the
mail.
