any chance there could be a novice tourney for each of
the weapons forms for those of us who are trying to
pick up something other than sword and shield after
all these years?

   Here is the deal.  If you have been a fighter for less than Two
years..Please come and Participate as a Novice.  The Weapon Form  does
not matter.   Use what ever weapon you are authorized to fight.
   Now...  If you  are a more seasoned fighter...there is an Open
Tournament as well.  So..In either case..come on down and Fight.  See
the Castle and have a Great Time.   Be sure to tell your Friends..this
is going to be a GREAT event!
