[MR] Event Calendar - Options for meeting all needs

There are various regional "unofficial" event calendars out there
already. I must say that I personally don't like the concept. I've
already noticed events posted on some of these "unofficial" online
calendars that haven't submitted any information to Kingdom. I realize
that the whole concept is to be "unofficial" but I think it's too easy
for people to start ignoring that part of it. I have no control over
people setting up these various calendars but I would like to suggest
that people just hold off for a couple more months on going crazy trying
to come up with alternate solutions and/or suggestions. Lord Gruffudd
(our wonderful and often under-appreciated Webminister) is working to
finalize SPIKE 2 (the hope is to have it up and running by February
'05). SPIKE 2 will enhance many aspects of the website and online
calendar. Instead of having to rely on Gruffudd to make manual updates,
most of the calendar information will be updated automatically. So,
please know that we are (and have been for some time) working on many
enhancements and solutions so please be patient for a bit longer.

Ever in Service,

Greetings,

One option for this might be to have the online Event calendar be
"unofficial". This would allow the Acorn to still have the official
calendar and not sidestep any rules. It would also help out the
populace in planning their event year.

Just my 2 cents!
