My Lords and Ladies, PRAY ATTEND!

The Coronation of Their Highnesses does fast approach, to be celebrated with a day of competition and good will in the fighting arts, as well as those of the traditional arts and sciences. I hope you will all attend and enjoy yourselves to the fullest.

Her Highness, Princess Rachel did announce at Pennsic that she shall be searching for a Champion in the Arte of Rapier from that moment until the day of her Coronation, and as such she has asked all those who might wish to represent both Herself and Prince Janos on the Rapier Field to demonstrate their skills before them.

To aid her in the selection process, Her Highness has requested a tournament be held at Coronation. This tournament will be a Baroness Anne Tournament, an older style of competition that she has a great fondness for. All rapier fighters wishing to compete that day, either for the Rapier Championship or simply for enjoyment, are asked to bring with them an unusual item for use in their off hand and to quote Her Highness, "the more unusual, the better!" Cups, Brooms, bread loaves, tavern wenches, it's all good! The only requirement is that they conform to the rules regarding off-hand parrying devices, and that they do not violate the Blatantly Modern rule. For the primary weapon, this shall be schlager preferred as per Her Highness' request.

Now, here's where things get interesting....

All off hand items will be numbered and placed into a pile, and each round the fighter shall have an off hand parry device selected at random. You shall then compete against your opponent with said device. A prize shall be awarded to the winner of the tournament, however the true prize will be spending the day competing with your friends for fun, and for the opportunity to represent Their Future Majesties and Atlantian Rapier.

Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. I would also ask those who might be interested in helping to marshal this tournament to contact me privately.

I thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Lord Christopher mac Coning
