Good day, gentles all! Come join the Canton of Azurmont on May 7 - 9, 2004 for The Feast of St. Pyr in the Roanoke, Virginia area. This is honestly the best weekend you'll have for this little remuneration...!

Come revel with the Canton in the Festival of our Patron Saint. For those who don't already know, St. Pyr was one of St. Patrick's compatriots on his journey to convert the pagan Irish. He remains the patron saint of Cornwall's tin mines and was King Arthur's chaplain. He liked to have a good time, but though his martyrdom was odd -- he died rather ignominiously when he stumbled down a well - we honor him with feast, song, tale and dance, and cordially invite you to join our revels.

Activities: We celebrate this feast in the spirit of St Pyr's legend -- and we do mean "spirit!"

a.. Brewer's Competition - Two divisions, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Prizes for winners; contact autocrat for details. Our esteemed Lord Thomas Longshanks has agreed to adjudge this competition and we very sincerely look forward to his contributions to this weekend.

b.. A & S Competitions - Two divisions: Reliquaries (of any saint, but of St. Pyr would really be nice), and Accessories in Period (belts, bags, hats, you name it). Documentation is strongly encouraged, and we've got some great prizes to be awarded to winners. Our coordinator for this activity is Lady Anne Balfour; please contact her for further details.

c.. Classes throughout the day include MOL 101, Breads, Chain Mail Tailoring, Tinwork and Field Repair for Archery as well as Atlantian Customs and Traditions/Order of Precedence. Lord Michael Batcock has graciously volunteered his services, as has the great Lady Ilse, and we're very much looking forward to seeing them at our event! Please check our website for times and additional classes at http://www.azurmont.homestead.com

d.. Additional activities for the young and young at heart will also be taking place including St. Pyr's Race and the Quest for his Converts. Update: We are also holding a silent auction to benefit our children's activities, so please - bring your joyful junque! Contact our esteemed Baroness, Lady Avelyn, for coordination information. Note that her contact information has changed! She may be reached at (540) 397-1393, but please -- NLT 9:00 p.m.
