In preparation for confirmation classes this Fall at St. Christopher's
Episcopal Church, I have been asked by the vestry if I could organize a
history class and/or discussion group. This class would be on a Sunday
morning during the 9 AM hour. The date is flexible; any Sunday but the
first in the month is available. Yes, I know early August is "right out".
St. Christopher's is located in Portsmouth, Virginia, conveniently close to
Interstate 664.

My entry into the SCA was fueled by interest in Elizabeth I. I soon learned
that the world of her father, Henry VIII, VERY much influenced Elizabeth's
views on church and state. I am unfamiliar with things going on in the rest
of the world during this time frame. If some one has knowledge of German,
Spanish, or Italian politics (to name the ones that leap to mind), it would
be wonderful to hear those views. I have learned that the sources I read
growing up were heavily weighted to the English point of view. The most
recent PBS special about Henry VIII taught me a lot about "those evil
foreign women" that he married.

Please contact me off list with questions or to volunteer. If you have any
links to research sites, I would love to see those also.
