I have a Wall-tent I made with sunbrella ... as I got it 'real cheap'.

It does not breath.  AT ALL.  nada.  That's why I made a wal-tent, during 
the day I can open both ends and let the tent breath.

>2) With ropes and stakes at each of the 4 corners, would my dayshade be 
>sturdy enough considering the additonal weight of the sunbrella walls?

No personal knowledge, but I've heard 'bad stories' of people trying to 
turn the quik=tents into pavilions ... that it can't stand up to a major 
windstorm with sides on it, etc.

But I dunno for real.
