But you *can* find nice silver plated tumblers that are very close to a
simpler version of "The Merode Cup" (15th c. in the V&A, London) in the
Bridal Isle of Michaels craft stores for about $8 each. There are also
similar cups in the bathroom accessories departments of many stores.

Pier 1 has some nice wooden boxes (in various sizes) with appropriate metal
work and chain for the lid. Think feastgear box. Unfortunately, they are
on clearance and hard to find. Called "Brass Accent Wood Boxes", you can
find pictures online at:

Also at Pier 1, the "wooden hut box". I can't find documentation for this
exact style, but it is reminiscent of many, many reliquary boxes. Think
jewelry or pens or dress accessories box. Pictures at:

Another find is the garden lantern available at some JoAnn's Fabric Stores.
The ones that are a clear glass cup held in a metal ring with three chains
by which it hangs are a good representation of oil lamps found in many 15th
and 16th c. paintings.

IKEA has a large round metal chandelier with very nice hooks that complete
the look. Picture at:

It is nice when things medieval are in style. Now is a great time to buy -
before fluorescents are back "in"!

Always on the lookout,
Sorcha de Glys :)

Uh, no. Not really. That was an example of the sort of thing I wish
somebody would tell us, not an actual shopping tip. Sorry for any
confusion.

However, speaking of margaritas, I see that the cocktail hour has arrived.
Hasta mañana!
