=============================================================
Unto all who read these letters does Lady Ninian Ende
send greetings!
I am running the Arts and Sciences at Kingdom Crusades
this year. I would like to try something a little
different this year for the A&S display. Please pass
this information along to any Laurels, A&S lists, A&S
officers, artisans, or other members of the populace
that you feel will benefit from the information.
On Saturday, October 11, 2003, a Laurel's Prize
Tourney will be held. This tourney will take place
throughout the day, will be open to all who wish to
attend, and will follow the schedule below:
9AM-1PM: Items may be placed on display and viewed
1PM-3PM: Artisans may be with their piece for the
question/answer session
3PM-4PM: Artisans leave so Laurels may complete Prize
Tourney
To understand more completely how this will run,
please refer to the directions below:
Artisans - Come prepared with one or two items for
display (due to limited space please bring only one or
two items). The pieces on display may be a work in
progress. You may start setting up your display up at
9AM that morning. For the question/answer session
(1PM-3PM) please have some form of documentation and
be prepared to answer questions about your work,
materials, documentation, etc. Keep in mind that
attending the question/answer session is completely
optional. (Having a small notepad to record suggested
web pages, books, etc. may be advisable.) During the
Prize Tourney Time (3PM-4PM) you will be asked to
leave the room for judging. All displays must be
picked up by 4:30PM. The autocrat will not be
responsible for collecting, storing, or returning
displays to their rightful owners.
Laurels - Please come prepared to ask questions of the
artisans about their work, materials, or
documentation. If you have specific books, web sites,
or other useful information you would like to share
that would also be appreciated. Please keep your
comments/advice to a positive nature. During the Prize
Tourney (3PM-4PM) you may judge the various pieces on
display. The artisans will be asked to leave during
this time. It is requested that you leave a small
token of some kind (a 'prize') for those pieces you
feel best befit the arts of the Society. These tokens
may be what you please and may be left to encourage,
to praise, and/or to reward a job well done. The
number of tokens you wish to leave is entirely at your
discretion.
Should you have questions about this, please feel free
to contact me at AandS at crusades.eastkingdom.org.
I remain, in service to the Dream,
Lady Ninian Ende
