My Lords and Laydes:

I am fortunate enough to be the director of two vocal Music Groups in the
SCA:  Laydes Fayre and The Lochmere Vocal Music Guild.   Both groups sing
period sacred and secular music at SCA events and demos and have a great
time doing it!  We are always interested in welcoming new members to our
ranks. You do not need to be a member of th Barony of Lochmere, be able
to read music or be a fantastic singer to join (although the later of the
two won't  hurt!)   All that is expected is that you are able to stay
reasonably in tune, attend rehearsals regularly and have a sense of
humor.    Music will be provided.

Below is a brief description of both groups.  Please contact me off the
list at chrissings at juno.com if you are interested in joining.

"Laydes Fayre" is an interbaronial women's vocal music ensemble.  It  is
currently comprised of women from the Baronies of Lochmere, Dun Carraig,
Ponte
Alto, and Storvik.  Our rehearsals are held on the first and third
Fridays of
each month from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. at my house in Tracey's Landing, MD. 
(approximately 20 minutes from the Washington Beltway/Rt. 4 interchange).
  Rehearsal schedules are occasionally adjusted (with prior notice) to
allow the Director and members to attend out-of-town events.  

"The Lochmere Vocal Music Guild" is a mixed-voices (male and female)
vocal music ensemble.  Currently, it is comprised of members of the
Barony of Lochmere, but that is not a requirement for participation.  We
would particularly welcome Basses and Baritones and are subject to
bribery (within reason) to entice them!  But seriously...singers of all
voice types are welcome.  The guild meets on Wednesdays from 7:30 to
approximately 9 p.m. at the home of Lord Jaudin Guillame (the assistant
director) in Burtonsville MD.
