Unto the noble Populace of Atlantia, does the populace of fair and loyal
Ponte Alto send Greetings!

The time is nigh approaching, and preparations are being laid at the summer
palazzo of Lorenzo de Medici for glorious and honorable combatants of all
stripes. We hear news that Atlantia's Baronies from both far and near are
readying their champions to compete. Is your place on the field of honor at
CHALICE OF THE SUN GOD reserved yet?

On September 19-21, at Prince William Forest Park in Triangle, Virginia,
individual heavy weapons and rapier combatants, archers, artisans and bards
are invited to compete to become the CHALICE CHAMPION in their chosen
discipline. Each of the individual CHALICE CHAMPIONS not only wins honor
for that day only, but also the glory of being able to hold that title
throughout the year and defend it one year hence (or appoint a proxy). All
individuals are hereby invited to compete and show their mettle in their
chosen field.

And if that weren't enough, for the archers, The Barony of Stierbach will be
hosting the famed LOCHMERE ARROW SHOOT.

But there is still more glory to be won, in a team competition, the prize
being the CHALICE OF THE SUN GOD, that sacred cup provided to Heracles
during the course of his twelve labors. Teams consisting of a participant
in each discipline -- heavy weapons, rapier, A&S, bardic and archery -- will
accumulate points for their team based on their prowess in thier individual
disciplines. The team scoring the highest point total shall be the victor
for that day. (Unless, of course, there is a tie, in which case the matter
will be decided in True Italian Fashion.)

All teams MUST be registered with the Autocrat before 11 a.m. SATURDAY
MORNING of the event. In the interests of fairness, no late entries will be
accepted. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE ON A TEAM TO COMPETE INDIVIDUALLY. To
register, you may contact the Autocrat via email (scalucia at cox.net) or
submit your entry at troll when you arrive. A proper entry will include:
The name of your team, the name of each participant on your team, and the
name of the discipline(s) each member of your team will be competing in.
You must have one team member competing in at least 4 of the 5 disciplines.
A single individual may compete in more than one discipline for the same
team. A single individual may also compete in different disciplines on
behalf of different teams (i.e. fight rapier for one team, and do A&S for
another). A single individual may NOT compete in a single discipline on
behalf of more than one team. While a single individual may submit more
than one entry in the A&S competition, only ONE item may be used in team
competition and it must be identified at the time it is submitted to the
competition.

There is no tent camping on site, meaning that while dayshades will be
permitted on the list field, YOU MAY NOT SLEEP IN YOUR TENT. You must
register for a cabin space if you are staying over. There is PLENTY of
cabin space and it is only $4 per person ($1 for kids between 5-17, Under 5
is free). We can also arrange crash space as needed. Feast space, on the
other hand, is limited and filling up fast. We are nearly half-full on
feast space already.

We look forward to seeing you at Chalice of the Sun God, and welcome your
participation on the field of honor. Any questions, you may contact the
Autocrat, Luce Antony Venus, at scalucia at cox.net.
