Hey all!
Another one to add to the list is one of the Quantum Leap books, "Quantum
Leap: Knights of the Morningstar" by Melanie Rawn (also spelled Raun).
The basic premise is that Sam leaps into the body of a guy whose really
active in the local group of medieval re-enactors. It isn't the SCA exactly,
but close enough that I'd add it to your collection. My guess is that the
author had some contact with the SCA and thought it would be an interesting
premise for a leap episode.
It's a quick read and IIRC seemed to be true to the characters as set in
the series but then I read it a few years ago. There are used copies
available through amazon should you want one. (Not that I'm pushing amazon
but for out of print books, they're used section is great!)
Read on!

*ahem* Timing Is All. (meaning, "what a coincidence!")
James and I were just discussing an embellishment competition I am
proposing for Spring Crown tourney - namely "fiber embellishment of garb,
pre-1000", with documentation required. The prize, if my proposal is
accepted, would be a big ole basket full of various colors of
non-shrinking,
colorfast silk thread.
I wanted to come up w
ith wording that could include weaving and
embroidery, so the actual proposal has not been sent yet - but it's gonna
be. I also don't know if it's going to be approved, but I suspect it will
(because I have such a winning smile, doncha know).

greetings -
I was delighted to come across a book the other day by Mary Monica Pulver,
called MURDER AT THE WAR which I of course immediately read. Set at
Pennsic,
it's a Modern Day Mystery with a Medieval Setting. [as the sub-title
asserts]
After reading this, I got to wondering if there are any other fictional
books based on the SCA and it's activities? I'd like to start a little
collection of them. Anyone interested in getting MURDER AT THE WAR, I
noticed there are a few copies available at amazon.com - isbn: 0312006225
thanks,

The only other one that I know of, is the in the 'middle' of a series.
It's the 'wizardry' series by Rick Cook.
One of the books in the middle: The Wizardry Compiled, is 'rife' with SCA
influences, meetings, and goings-on. Quite funny in many areas as well,
as SCA folks are pitted against 'real' medieval times.
It reads well by itself without the rest of the series.
