I'm not sure if these count or not, but if my memory serves, the Warlock series by Christopher Stashaff (spelling of last name may be slightly incorrect as I'm not home to check it) are based on the premise that the planet Rod Gallowglass gets assigned to investigate was settled, at least in part, by SCAdians disaffected with the way Earth's civilization was going.  That was my introduction to the SCA.
