I wouldn't be too surprised. I've seen a largish drinking vessel
in the Art Institutue of Chicago with the arms of the Nine Peers
of Chivalry painted upon it, and I can assure you that it was way
too "recent" (Renaissance Nuremberg) for even the mediaeval peers
(Godfrey, the commander of the First Crusade, Arthur, and
Charlemagne).
