On the fabulous fall day of October 18, 2003, the Barony of Bright Hills held
their annual TnT Event.  As follows are events that took place during courts
on that day:

Bright and early Their Excellencies held a morning court.  At this court they
bid it be known that it was their wish to hold morning courts during their
reign.  During these courts last minute announcements would be made by the
various department heads if you will of the event.

After the various announcements were made Master Tristan Alexander requested
time before Their Excellencies.  At this time he presented them with Leather
painted coronets, in support of their reign.  He also promised that when the
time comes that they step down he would gladly paint their personal arms on
them.

At this Their Excellencies did close court.

The following did so occur during the evening court:

1. Lord Stephen Bridewell and Kenji Yoshimoto were called forth.  At this
time there was an exchange of unembroidered dew rags presented at Pennsic for
embroidered ones.

2. Marie of Doune, Lord Marcus O'Rothlain, Reyne Telarius, Erica von
Charlottenburg and Rouland were called forth.  At this time they were presented with
embroidered dew rags for use during their fighting in defense of the Barony.

3. All Authorized fighters were asked to present themselves before Their
Excellencies.  They were thanked for their service to the Barony and any who had
not previously received dew rags did so at that time.  They were asked to turn
and present themselves to the Barony as the fighting arm of the Barony.

4. THLady Olwen the Odd asked time to thank those who served to help at
Kingdom Crusades.  Their names are listed below (this is not a complete list):
Master Chirhart Blackstar; Baroness Rowan Berran McDowell;
Mistress Jeanne Tenneur de Bec; Lady Roana de Laci;
Master Kveldulfr; Lady Brienna Llewellyn Lindsay;
Mistress Margherita la Tessitrice; Lord Gustav  Emele Rot von Dugel;

Chagan Khulan (aka Baroness Ekaterina Vladimirovna)

After the names above were read and before THLady Olwen the Odd could return
to the kitchen she was presented with the Order of Job for her long standing
service to the Barony.

5. Reyne Telarius asked time to present Their Excellencies with a gift.  She
presented them with a spool of Black, Silver, & Gold woven cording.

6. Lord Michel von Schonsee was asked to come before Their Excellencies.  It
was their pleasure to award him with the Baronial Award of Excellence for his
countless hours spent assisting at the heraldic consult tables, and
volunteering the help with setups and break downs at events.

7. House Wulfshaven requested time before Their Excellencies.  At this time
they returned the Baronial baldrics worn at the Pennsic war.  His Excellency
complimented them on their prowess on the field and asked them not to be
surprised should he ask them to don the baldrics again in the future.

8. Erica von Charlottenburg was than asked to come before Their
Excellencies.  It was their extreme pleasure to award this gentle with the Companion of the
Silver Oak Leaf (a.k.a. The Heart of the Oak).  This award is given to the
youth of the Barony for excellent service.

9. Lord Denis de Dijon than presented Their Excellencies with beaded
necklaces in the Baronial colors.  At this time he also asked that Mistress Margherita
la Tessitrice come forth.  And so did the populace present bear witness to
the proposal of marriage and the acceptance there of.  Their Excellencies were
asked to stand up with the betrothed couple and happily agreed.

10. The Baronial Champions were asked to come forth:
At competitions held this day the following Champions were named:
In the Heavy Weapons Category a Champions battle was held as well as an
overall tourney.  The winner of the tourney is Animal Weretiger.  The winner of the
the Baronial Champions battle was once again Ceannric MacEaghn.

In a very close Rapier competition… Their Excellencies were asked to name
their champion.  And so Kenji Yoshimoto stepped down as Baronial Rapier Champion
and Lord Marcus O'Rothlain was elevated to that title.

Also, a close competition was that of the Archers of Bright Hills.  Third
place was award to Lady Alianne D'Anciens; second place was awarded to Alejandro
de la Vina.  The newly named Baronial Archery Champion, Geoffery of Doune.  At
this time he was given a bow bag as part of the regalia by Lady Alianne
D'Anciens as she stepped down as champion.  The Archery Marshal, Lady Catriona
inghean Ghirric did than ask Reyne Telarius to step forward.  As this time she
transferred the office of archer marshal into Reyne's capable hands.  Reyne was
given the arrow pin that denotes the Archery Marshal as well as a combat
archery badge as she is newly authorized in this field.

The Arts and Sciences held a sponsored competition by Lady Martel von
Charlottenburg.  It was this competition in the field of embroidery that one
of our   newest Champions was named.  Lord Denis de Dijon won the competition
and was   named Baronial Arts and Sciences Champion.

A Bardic competition was to be held between removes at feast to name the
Baronial Bardic Champion. Moragh MacFael was named Baronial Bard in close
competition.  Moragh gave us a Lithuanian folk tale.  In a very close second, Lady
Catriona gifted us with the history of a female Elizabethan pirate.  Other
entrants were Ingebord, with a recitation of the prologue to Chaucer's Canterbury
Tales in Middle English; and Lady Yseult with an impromptu retelling of the
TnT Quest.

11. Lady Wynne ferch Rhodri ap Hwyell was called forth with a gift of
largess.  Said largess was a basket of crayons each set of eight tied with a bow for
Their Excellencies use as the children of the Barony Trick-or-Treated between
removes at feast.

12. Geoffery of Doune, Marie of Doune, and Ingeborg I Trondheim were asked to
come forth.  It has become a recent tradition that newcomers to the Barony
that 'Jump in with both feet' be recognized.  This tradition began as an Order
was named in honor of a late member of the Barony, Tessa of Crossgate, who for
the short period of time we had the privilege of knowing her, never stopped
volunteering to help. At this time three gentles above were inducted into the
Order of Tessa.

13. His Excellency reiterated the charge put forth at Their Investiture, that
if for some reason it ceased to be fun that the populace come for and let
them know how they could help recapture the magic that is the SCA.  On this note
Their Excellencies did close their court.

To this I bear witness and to the best of my knowledge is a complete
recounting of the Courts held on the 18th day of October, 2003 A.S. XXXVIII.

In Service and Friendship,
Lady Alexandria Wright
Baronial herald of Bright Hills
