I know how many people hate short notice for competitions, and so I send
these words hoping to give plenty of advanced notice.

***BAGS AND BASKETS***
At Holiday Faire, on November 22nd in the Barony of Stierbach, we will be
having a competition on 'stuff to put things in'. It is not specifically
bags and baskets--it can be anything that you can put stuff in. After all,
since this is a shopping event then you need something to put your coins,
jewels, purchases, etc. inside. I will need judges for this competition
(yes, I've already sent out to people on the MoAS Judging list--which people
should still submit their names for if they are interested in offering
themselves as judges).

***TREACHERY AND INTRIGUE***
One must always be wary of the forces of assasination, secret writings, and
other stealthy arts that could lead to trouble. It is doubly important
during Stierbach's Baronial Investiture (January 24th, 2004), when things
are in transition. This competition is for all things that would have been
used for treachery and intrigue: ciphers, codes, poison rings (please, no
ACTUAL poisons), concealed weapons--or even the means of discovering any
such thing. Documentation and/or justification is strongly encouraged. I
will be asking for judges as the time draws near.

***WINTER CLOTHING***
Since Stierbach's Baronial Investiture will be held in the cold winter
months, we should all dress appropriately. This is a competition for winter
clothing/outfits of some kind that would have been worn specifically in the
colder months to help keep out the cold. Coming from Oertha, we always
found this to be an important matter! Documentation is strongly encouraged.
I will be asking for judges as the time draws near.

***SONGS OF SPRING***
Elizabeth of Hadley Hall has been kind enough to volunteer to run this
competition at Stierbach's Baronial Investiture, where we shall warm our
hearts through the gifts of our throats, conjuring images of the warmer days
to come. Judges will be requested as the time draws near.

If you have questions on any of these competitions, please let me know.
Feel free to pass them along to your local lists if you feel it is
appropriate for your area. I will be happy to assist with appropriate
documentation and research, where I can.

(Please note in the subject line what you are writing about--I get so much
spam that subjects from a stranger saying 'Re: Need Help...?' tend to get
overlooked. Things like "Question about A&S competition" is much more
specific, however.)
