They are supposed to have done so already.  Corpora, VIII.A.1 includes, 
as part of the prerequisits for being made a Peer:

"They shall have demonstrated support for the aims and ideals of the 
Society by being as authentic in dress, equipment and behavior as is 
within their power."

So a member of the Chivalry (or a Pelican or a Laurel, for that matter) 
who chooses to wear plastic armor because its lighter weight is an 
advantage (as opposed to some medical reason requiring them to reduce 
the weight they carry), is already failing one of the basic standards 
of the Peerage.  Surely none in Atlantia would do so.
