[MR] brocade questions

What do you guys think brocade is?

Without getting technical here, brocading is adding a supplemental pattern 
weft to a woven fabric that "floats" on the surface.  There are all sorts of 
little nit-picky definitional tweaks, of course, but that's the gist.
