The term 'Perugia towel' is used exclusively for
domestic land ecclesiastical linens with woven-in
designs (often brocaded). While there are some
surviving similar items with embroidered designs, they
are not considered 'Perugia towels.' CA #114,
'Perugia Towels,' goes into the woven linens in some
detail.
