[MR] Northern Route to Crusades

Friends,

I have been studying maps, mapquest, and the advice of
relatives in 
the Richmond area, and I am seriously thinking about
taking the 
Northern route from the Charlotte area to Kingdom
Crusades in order 
to avoid D.C. traffic, especially on a Friday
afternoon.

This entails taking 81 across VA to Hagerstown MD, and
cutting over 
from there to Havre de Grace. It looks like it's about
35 miles 
longer driving, but not through DC, taking I-70 from
Hagerstown to 
Baltimore's outer belt, i.e. I-695, to I-95 to Havre
de Grace.

Has anyone taken this route before? If so, can you
share your 
thoughts and advice about this plan?
