Greetings Good Gentles,

Yule is fast approaching on January 3rd this upcoming year. Following in the footsteps of last year where people brought their various arts and sciences projects to share and teach others, I would like to expand this and offer more of a variety of classes or open demos between the hours of 11:00AM and 4:00PM. This can be as informal or as formal as you wish it to be. If you would like to schedule a class for a certain hour complete with lecture or whether you would just like to hold an open demonstration for a certain amount of time and have people drop by, both would be most welcome. Or if you would like to just bring your current arts and sciences project to share with others, please feel free to do that as well.

In addition, I would like to try holding another Curriculum Vita to give everyone a chance to bring out the best example of one of EVERY Art or Science that was tried within the general context of SCA. This will give all those attending a good chance to witness the breadth of people’s A&S talents as well as their not-so-perfect attempts. No documentation is needed unless you would like to submit it for someone else to peruse. People who would like to participate in the Curriculum Vita need to contact me and let me know so that I can arrange for enough space to properly display everyone’s items. Please watch the website, newsgroup and the Drekkar for future announcements.

At this time I would like to begin planning the courses. Should you, or any member of a local group, like to teach a class or demo, please email me the following attachment. If you are volunteering to teach more than one class, please use one sheet per subject. Or if for some reason, you are unable to open the document, please send me the following information:

   SCA and mundane name
   Email address
   Regular address and phone
   Name of the class/demo
A brief description of the course/demo
Number of participants allowed (IE: will there be a cap on attendance?)
   Fees, if any
Tools or items your students should bring with them
Time you will need for the course (classes can be set in 30 minute blocks)
   Time preference
Any notes or requirements you may have

Based on the responses I receive I will begin blocking out the course/demo lists. If more than one person wishes to teach the same material, I will first ask if one would like to teach an adult class that children may attend but will be geared towards adults or if the person would like to teach a children’s class. Then I would schedule the class on a first volunteered basis, but may decide to offer them at opposite ends of the day. If you find that you cannot attend after you have been scheduled to teach, please contact me as soon as possible. The deadline for signing up to teach or demo will be December 13th as I will be out of town as of December 16th. I would like to get this information as soon as possible as I would like to have a small flyer made up before then, proper signage and would like to let others know what is to be offered.

I encourage those out there to volunteer to hold classes for children. Many children in the barony I have already been in contact with are very excited about acquiring new skills and the possibility of attending classes geared especially for them. Though I understand this may require a bit more energy and patience, I would like to see children get an equal chance to participate and be more involved in the arts and sciences since they will be the future generations to cultivate and carry on these interests.

I look forward to hearing from many wonderful teachers and artisans and want to thank you in advance for your help, participation and contribution in keeping the light of knowledge alive.

Yours in Service,

Kim of Wolfshaven

MoAS, Barony of Storvik
