Great information as usual, Lady Karen! You are an amazing source of
information!
Well, the device I have designed for myself (still not filed, alas) is
"ermine, purpure fretty" so I have no heraldic beast of my own (I have
beasts of my own but they aren't heraldic!). But, seeing as my feast gear
needs pepping up and there are those competitions at 12th Night and I love
the challenge....I want to contribute something to the competitions (besides
my research paper on knitting in Scotland). I would hate to decorate my
tableware with heraldic beasts that one might assume were my
device/badge/whatever. Thus, the origin of my inquiry. Perhaps it would be
better to focus on the salt cellar competition and decorate my other
tableware in other more appropriate ways? I'll decide for sure after
looking through all the links you have provided.
How do you find all those links, anyway? I googled and didn't turn those up
at all....me thinks My Lady has a secret pact with the internet gods?
