No doubt.  But as I said, I have spent too much time
in the trenches of breed rescue to take it
lightheartedly.  There are two primary reasons why a
dog winds up in rescue or a shelter:  human greed (as
when puppy mills are shut down) and human stupidity
(e.g. dogs acquired as part of the suburban affluence 
package with the McMansion and the SUV, without
thought as to what dog ownership entails).  Meaning no
offence to the hound owners in Atlantia, and certainly
not to the original poster, while I would like to
think SCA people are above that somehow, I have been
in the SCA too long to delude myself.  Greed and
stupidity are present here, too.

I repeat my invitation to people interested in canine
activities for non-coursing dogs to drop me a line. 
Anyone interested in Golden Retriever rescue, either
as a volunteer or a potential adopter is also invited
to get in touch.
