A few people mentioned master of the hall etc.. Note that
some groups use that to name the person in charge of the hall
(where you eat etc...) Thus there could be some confusion.
Also using Gate guard runs into the problem at events where
you really have gate guards. (Pennsic etc.)
I think something like herbergeor would be closer in some ways
to the actual job. That is if you feel the need to change the job
description. (Of course leaving it alone is also fine with me)

In any case thanks to all the people that do any event jobs. Don't care if
their job title may be lord in charge of icky stuff or Serjeant of the larder.
