thanks for clearing that up. not sure i can relate since i dont really
bruise anymore and havnt for years. you said "Because there is a point
where things should be changed (like carpet armor for health reasons" and it
implied that more than "your friends" had some sort of health whatevers from
carpet. sorry to hear that you know someone that doesnt like carpet as
padding but it actually is used by many fighters to this day. they, at
least most of them that actually care about the sca, cover it so it isnt
seen but i have never heard of anyone having "health" issues with it.

Actually I hadn't heard that carpet armor was illegal
and didn't mean to imply taht it was. But the friends
that I knew who used carpet armor seemed to complain
about much more serious bruises than those that didn't
use carpet armor.
In any case it seemed a very unpopular thing just
because it didn't seem like it protected well. I
haven't met anyone that tooted the values of carpet
armor recently, only those that told me how terrible
it was for long term use.
