Perhaps we should rethink the words "fun", "amusement", "camaraderie" as
they pertain to the SCA as well. It seems that some are more interested in
their version of what they wish for our society than the wishes of the
society itself (i.e.: ALL of us). In the personal quest for historical
accuracy, let us not forget the history of our organization, and the fun,
frolic and fraternity which is at its very beginning.
Surely those who wish a more serious venture into authenticity can
peacefully coexist with those who have less academic goals. Surely chivalry
itself demands a less sweeping and strident approach.
Surely there is enough room for all of us to participate.
