Remember when Melee was Fun? It can be again! But it appears that we
need a little practice to get back in the swing of the melee thing. To
that end, there will be a melee practice at the November 9th, at the
Ponte Alto practice (Outdoors/Daylight is Good!), thanks to the
Graciousness of Ponte Alto, to remind us of how to work in units. How
to cover/work with your neighbor, move as a unit and answer questions
such as "Just what is a killing cup?". For those of us (such as
myself) that need to know what our job is as a unit once we are
positioned (that is: just how do I as a spear/shield and sword/etc.
person take advantage of my position and weapons strengths, what should
I be doing?), and how to keep unit cohesion, an unarmored drill
practice with Storvik (through the consent of the practice marshall, Sir
Kevin of Thornbury) will be held starting at 1:00. Armored combat
with various scenarios will start at 2:00. I hear tell someone is
going to invite Angelsea's and other Frat Fighters and possibly some
East Kingdom Fighters may join us as well.. This means good clean fun to
be had for all!

If you enjoy this, (and I know you will), we will try to squeeze in
another practice or so while the weather holds. Then we will plan to
pick them back up in early spring. Please let me know if you are
interested! Sound good? Good!

The practice is (weather permitting), 1PM - unarmored drills, 2PM to
Dark - melee practice, behind the Tysons-Pimmet Regional Library at
7584 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church. Sorry, since this is a practice, not
an event, no authourizations can be conducted.

Take your best route to I-495. Get off at the exit for Route 7 East
(Falls Church). The library is on the left about 1 mile. Park your car
in the library lot and go down the hill to the practice.

Please contact Kevin of Thornbury (Kevin Maxson) at 703-810-8438 for
information.
