In my experience, an un-killable opponent has usually been a golum, a
reanimated corpse, similar to a zombie.  Golums are mentioned in the tale of
Jason and the Golden Fleece, which is a bit before our period, but should
still be OK.  There are several out there, recognizable by their blank stare
and invulnerability.  My 2 pence worth.  Werhener
