[MR] running of the hounds, lighter note

The post about the black lab that would never chase a
lure reminded me of the last hound coursing I saw.
After a while, the crowd grew restive, and the cry
went up "course the Bassets!" So the two Basset hounds
in the audience came forward, and the lure was set.
The started to run...and after about 10 feet one
veered off to the crowd to sniff at a baby. The other
ran another 10 feet or so, then calmly walked over to
one side and waited for the lure to come back towards
the starting point, at which time he pounced on it.
Clever doggie.
