Actually this part of it wouldn't bother me so I'm not
sure I was clear.  What would bother me is what I've
seen before where some self-important troll that says
"Oh it's not a troll, it's a gatekeeper".  Not a very
friendly welcome and possibly some newcomer's first
experience at an SCA event.  Not great for them to
watch either but we increase such chances when we
start with our own language.

I'm not saying we must conform or that we should not
strive to be period (I'm the one with the research
paper competition for crying out loud).  But no one
has told me how such situations are going to be less
than what happens already.  And so far my fears have
been confirmed that such situations increase when a
kingdom chooses its own language. 

Besides that, no one has come up with a word that
hasn't been used or means something else already
except maybe Calli.
