[MR] Garb Wars: The Investiture Court Report for Their Excellencies, Barre & Cordelia

Upon the 17th day of May, 2003 Gregorian the following did so happen within 
the courts of Their Excellencies, Barre and Cordelia, forth Baron and Baroness 
of Bright Hills:

1.  The baronial officers were called forth and asked to serve and retain 
their office until the end of their term.  

2.  The baronial champions were called forth and asked to continue to defend 
Bright Hills in the name of Her Royal Majesty and Atlantia.

3.  Lord Denis de Dijon and Lady Juliana Cardoso were asked to come forth.  
Lady Juliana was asked to remain within the court until Lord Denis could arrive 
from the other hall.

4.  Lady RoAna de Laci was called forth.  At which time she was officially 
given the Companion of Tessa.  A recognition for newcomers in the name of Tessa 
of Crossgate.  Lady RoAna was given this recognition by Master Tristan within 
his last court.  Upon her absence at that time he asked that it be given to 
her officially in the afternoon court.

5.  Master Chirhart Blackstar requested a few moments before Their 
Excellencies to reflect upon his 20 years as a Laurel.

6.  Before Master Chirhart could leave the court he was than presented with 
anniversary gifts:
Baroness Rowan Berran McDowell, Mistress Margherita le Tessitrice, and Lady 
Olwen the Odd presented Master Chirhart with his arms made in marzipan and 
laurel leaf pastries forming the wreath of the Laurel around them.

Morningstar presented Master Chirhart with black leather cording from which 
hung leather black stars and miniature portraits of the members of House 
Blackstar that she hand painted.

Lastly, Sam Seacord made a presentation on behalf of the fitzRobert of York 
family and himself, of a silver platter edged with the laurel leaf pattern.

7.  Lord Denis de Dijon and Lady Juliana Cardoso were recalled into Their 
Excellencies court.  At this time did the office of Chatelaine change hands from 
Lord Denis to Lady Juliana.

8.  Lady Aoife inghean Roibeard ui Ruadhain was asked to come forth.  At 
which time she was presented with a pewter goblet.  To toast to the impending 
birth of her heir and as a token of appreciation so that she may always remember 
Bright Hills fondly as she travels to the mid-west.

9.  Marcus O'Rothlain was than called forth.  At which time he explained that 
the presentation from the Rapier's guild was not yet complete and apologized 
for it not being ready.  At which time he was than surprised by being awarded 
the Companion of the Silberberg.

10. Arghylle Buchannan was called forth as John of Argyle; we heartedly 
apologize for the confusion of his name and now make the corrections.  Arghylle was 
awarded with the Shell and Crescent for his contribution to the Barony in the 
art of Woodworking.

11. Baron Temur of the Kerait was than asked to come forward.  At that time 
it was announced that he would be holding the position as Baronial Warlord.

12. Mistress Margherita le Tessitrice asked than to make a presentation to 
the Barony.  She presented the Baron and Baroness with woven napkins from her 
loom, in the Baronial colors white napkins with a gold and black pattern woven 
into them.

13. Baroness Ekaterina Vladimirovna was than asked to come forth and make the 
announcements as Autocrat of the event and award prizes respectively.  After 
thanking everyone for coming to make the day a successful event she than asked 
the following people to come forth:
A) Lord Stephen Bridewell come forth and announce the winner of the Rapier 
tourney.  
Though I do not recall the prize Sir Vladimir Ivanovich Aleksander was named 
the winner by a codpiece.

B)  Baron Temur of the Kerait to announce the winner for the Heavy Weapons 
tourney and most chivalric of the day.  
    Lord Kollack von Zweckle was awarded "The Medieval Machine" for his 
prowess on the list field.  

    Ceannric MacEoghn was given a cloak pin for most chivalrous behavior.

C) Mistress Margherita le Tessitrice to announce the winners in the Arts and 
Sciences competition.
    Mesterinde Ana Ilevna and Mesterinde Anarra Karlsdottir were awarded a 
strand of ¼" round lapis and ¼" round pearls for their incredible Laurel cloak 
in the Viking style.

    Ingabord was awarded the Stephen Friar book on Basic Heraldry for her 
lovely entry.

       Lady Olwen the Odd was than presented with a red and gold Chain Maille 
necklace for her incredible representation of the new Baron and Baroness's 
arms quartered in marzipan and peel.

14. Their Excellencies than thanked everyone for coming and making this an 
event they shall always remember.

15. During feast the prizes were awarded to the competitors of the 24 hour 
garb competition.
The team "Runs with Scissors" consisting of:
                  Lady Hrosvitha van Celle
            Madame Belphoebe de Givet
            Baroness Greta Klusenaere
            Eva Beguy Urdina
            Sophia
            Giovanna Mancuso
        Took first place and received a big basket of trim to be divided 
amongst the team.

The team "Garb Warrior Wenches" took second place and received Stephen 
Friar's Basic Heraldry book as well.
