I am looking to purchase academic regalia and have several questions regarding
my options.  Retailers consistently tell me "it's just a matter of taste";
however, I suspect the options each had a significance at one time.  Do you know
anyone I could contact who has a good knowledge of the history of academic
regalia so that I can learn?
