Greetings, denizens of the Tavern!
Due to a Boy Scout training session being scheduled on our original date,
Hero's Portion has had to change weekends. It will now be April 25 - 27 at
Camp Pipsico. This is a scant 37 miles from Berley Cort's Beltain
Celebration, which is working out well for both groups - they are offering a
wet site with archery and a wonderful bardic circle, we are offering a dry
site with armoured fighting, rapier, and a fiber festival / cloth dying
seminar. Campers at both sites will be welcome to cross-attend activities by
stopping in the troll and showing their site tokens as well as paying a
slight ($0-$3 depending on the activity) additional one-time fee.
Lord Mungoe will write soon about this year's Armoured fighting scenario.
I don't remember all the details, but do remember chortling a few times as
he described it. It promises to be fun.

Lady Margret (once Mairghread) and I are co-ordinating the Arts and
Sciences activities. You'll be hearing more from us as we gather in
volunteer teachers by begging or enticement. I am always willing to use
embroidery or cheesecake as an enticement (I know the Cheesecake lady!)

The FiberFest (String Thing) will take place in the Hall. Due to the size
of the Hall, equipment can be set up, used and left there all weekend, even
during feast. Thus we have approx. 48 hours of well-lit, warm and dry space
to play in. We are hoping to entice folks who are interested in sharing
their knowledge of tablet-weaving, sprang, Warp Weighted Looms, table looms,
tapestry, embroidery, cloth-stamp dyeing, and anything else that is best
taught one-on-one. We wish to provide a comfortable area for those who have
projects they are working on for upcoming A&S displays and competitions. The
sturdy Boy Scout dining tables and benches are in sufficient supply to
guarantee space for the heaviest of crafts. The barony has 5 inkle looms,
which will be onsite for practise-pieces.
Mairghread is specifically deputised to see if there is interest in a day
of dyeing cloth. We have rented a separate (but near-by) building to house
the activity, with cement floors, tables, electricity, and sinks.

We are also looking for merchants who wish to attend, especially those
whose merchandise supports the Fighting or Fibre Arts, as well as books -
ah, pretty please, books - and other such items as trim, patterns, beads,
and items of adornment.

If you are interested in further details or are a merchant (or craftsman
who'd like to volunteer to pass on your knowledge), please contact
rosine at sybercom.net or rwday at cox.net .

Thank you,
Rosine of Rowanwald
