A few years ago one of my clients paid me to write a paper about medieval land-transfer ceremonies, and create a medieval-ish ceremony that could be used by the Mayor of his city in making a grant of land to a local university. That was a pretty cool intersection of SCA interests and real life! Plus I got to see the newspaper articles afterwards.
